    In the very heart of the Alpujarra, the spectacular beauty of the Barranco del Poqueira gorge has made it one of the best-known places in the La Alpujarra part of the Sierra Nevada. With it’s special flora and fauna and spectacular views one of the most beautiful gorges. Different walks along this gorge possible.

  • option 2 -  Barranco Rio Bermejo

    option 2 - Barranco Rio Bermejo

    Not well known smaller gorge along impressive old chestnut forest with many beautiful waterfalls and very old but still working moorish water channels. Starting in Pitres we walk up into the rough nature. With its special flora and a perfect walk for birding.

  • option 3 -  Barranco Rio Chico

    option 3 - Barranco Rio Chico

    A lower gorge with beautiful views and nature, very diverse with cedar and pine forests. Starting in Cañar and passing one of the biggest waterfalls around at Dique 24, a sort of dam built in the 40’s to control the river.

    The walk includes a part of the famous Sulayr route. Starting and ending in Cañar.
