A completely different scenery with a varied view of green valleys and arid badlands on the North side of the Sierra Nevada, good to combine if you are also visiting Granada.

  • option 1 - Cumbres Verdes

    option 1 - Cumbres Verdes

    Near Granada we find here a complete different Sierra Nevada scenery compared with the south side. As the south side is most slate rock, the north side is most dolomite rock. What changes the scenery completely. The arid zones with it’s special flora is accompanied with lush forests and green valleys interspersed with dramatic views. Several different routes are possible.

  • option 2 -  Trevenque

    option 2 - Trevenque

    Also near Granada and next to Cumbres Verdes is the dramatic summit of Trevenque with it’s spectacular views. It’s a steep clime but following the narrow path passing wild formed rock formations, it’s quite easy to get to the summit where a 360° fantastic view is waiting for us.

  • option 3 -  Vereda de la Estrella

    option 3 - Vereda de la Estrella

    The scenery in this deep valley is stunning. Among the pretty views you can enjoy are the highest peaks of Sierra Nevada, the Alcazaba and the Mulhacen. We start near Barranco de San Juan, where one of the old tram stations was situated and follow for a wile the river beneath us. The walk is along centenary chestnuts and through beautiful nature, forests, gorges and old ruins.

  • option 4 -  Jerez del Marquesado - Lavaderos de la Reina

    option 4 - Jerez del Marquesado - Lavaderos de la Reina

    “Los Lavaderos de la Reina” is one of the most impressive sites in Sierra Nevada, famous for the snow caves that are formed when the snow starts to melt, which makes it such a wonderful and incredible place, especially in the spring time. From Lugros, we will cross the pasture making its complete route to climb the Sulayr path, which will take us to the bottom of “Los Lavaderos de la Reina” with it’s wonderful waterfalls and incredible views.
